stuck inside of 2017 with the 2016 blues again

These last two days:

So first my iPhone, essentially free a couple of years ago (accumulated points), yesterday made its death knell clear, ignoring a new Sim card and all factory resets; it’s now a pre-corpse of stumbling WiFi, no calls, no text, no Internet, no Siri and her prudish answers to my naughty questions, etc. Getting anything comparable, $500+, cuz U.S. Cellular don’t do no points no more. My work would be hell without a smart phone as out-of-office support, and I am Apple-integrated, so … I leave shortly to embrace that unexpected expense.

Then the Little Red Dog’s periodic teeth cleaning, also yesterday — and which we are always alerted is due by the absolute hell that has become her breath — turned up this time a huge abscess that, if not found, could have put her darling little life in dire jeopardy. One abscess surgery, extracted tooth and antibiotic treatment later, and Sadie (LRD) is already so much more animated than she’s been, hallelujah, and we didn’t until even realize until then the slow downward slide to her recent behavior.

And, alas, another $500, gone.

Then the BB-shaped growth on Goofus Dog’s ear, which was assumed a fatty deposit the vet said we should monitor for a while, clearly dictated these last few days a new medical examination. And today, the result we feared. A biopsy will confirm, and removal of the growth should be total in a single surgery, though it may have to involve taking a little of her actual sweet floppy hound-dog ear; she should fare just fine, thankfully, in the long run. Maggie be a true Goofus Dog, but she is such a doll.

And, kaching!, about a cool grand for all that, estimated.

Powerful worry, and the prospect of $2K gone suddenly, in just two days.

I started the New Year with a stomach virus, and now all this? I mean, fucking hell, people, the Orange Tweeter Monkey isn’t even president yet …

Screw you, 2017.
